Mission Statement

The Connecticut Athletic Trainers’ Association Governmental Affairs Committee (CATA-GAC) endeavors to insure the growth of the Athletic Training profession through legislative efforts.  The CATA-GAC will enhance the professional stature of Athletic Trainers as allied health care providers by working cooperatively with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies. The CATA-GAC strives to be proactive in monitoring and identifying areas affecting the profession that can be addressed through legislation or government regulation.

Strategic Directions 

• Continue Grassroots efforts throughout Annual Legislative Session

• Continue full lobbying efforts to remain relevant and recognized with CT General Assembly

• Continue to publicize AT's expertise in concussion management and the CT Concussion Law
