Mission Statement

The CATA COPA is to provide and ensure continued opportunity for an athletic trainers to receive third party reimbursement in the State of Connecticut. The Committee is charged with educating those involved with reimbursement and revenue issues and to foster an environment in Connecticut, which values the role of an athletic trainer in the health care of the athletic and physically active population.

 

 

Strategic Directions

  • Educate Members and Those Impacted by Athletic Training Reimbursement
  • Enhance Communication and Involvement of Members and CATA

  • Strengthen the Position of an athletic trainer in the Connecticut Health Care Marketplace

  • Assist Members who are seeking to gain reimbursement

 

 

Third Party Reimbursement Initiative (TPRI-CT)

Through the CT COPA committee, a task force was created to focus efforts on education, advocacy and recognition of professional billing for medically necessary services rendered by athletic trainers in Connecticut.  The Task Force was created and regularly meets to discuss plans to move CT forward towards this goal. The TPRI Task Force wants to involve the membership of CATA in this initiative, through education, outreach and advocacy. Resources will be available here.

 

Tasks Completed:

  • Membership survey and business analysis about current state of Third-Party Reimbursement in Connecticut was completed by The Clark Group Associates Inc. in June 2019. Findings from the report are being used to move the TPRI forward.

 

Member Education:

  • NATA TPRI Bootcamp for Executive Committee/TPRI Task Force

    • Held virtually in December 2020 via Zoom

 

  • CATA Annual Symposium 2021

    • Medical Documentation: Best Practices and Considerations, Presented by:
