The Gary Morin Advocacy in Athletic Training Award
​
The Gary Morin Advocacy in Athletic Training award is presented to a CATA member or honorary stakeholder for outstanding advocacy efforts on behalf of the athletic training profession. The deserving individual would be someone that has intentionally worked towards advancement of the profession and dedicated years of service to speaking on the perceived value of the athletic trainer at the state level.
Criteria for nomination:

Athletic Trainer that has contributed to the promotion of the athletic training profession through leadership, professionalism, and service.

Stakeholder (Physician, legislator, leader, administrator) that has dedicated years of service intentionally serving through action and outspoken advocacy for the athletic training profession at the state level.

Significant service to the athletic training profession, especially in the state of Connecticut (i.e.contributions to the CATA, EATA, and/or NATA. Service to the community - professional and/or civilian; Community education - presentations, publications, etc. especially to other stakeholders on behalf of the profession)
Selection Process:

Nomination must come from current CATA member

Completed nomination form
-
Letter describing qualities and contributions of the nominee fitting the criteria and essence of the award.
Election Process:

The CATA Executive Council will select the individual after reviewing completed nomination

Winner of this award will be announced publicly and will be recognized at the CATA Symposium meeting
