C.A.T.A. Scholarship Program

National Athletic Trainers Association - District One Scholarship

 

C.A.T.A offers these scholarships to athletic trainers who are enrolled full-time in a Connecticut college or university. Award recipients are picked by a committee.

 CATA Undergraduate Scholarship Application

The Connecticut Athletic Trainers’ Association awards two undergraduate scholarships, the District One Scholarship, given in conjunction with NATA District One, and the CATA undergraduate scholarship. This application will make the applicant eligible for both scholarships provided they meet the eligibility requirements.

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Applicant must be a full-time student attending a college or university in Connecticut.

  2. Applicant must distinguish oneself academically, and as a participant in his/her athletic training program.

  3. Applicant must be enrolled in an undergraduate program requiring four years for a baccalaureate degree, and may apply during his/her junior year, or immediately prior to his/her final undergraduate academic year.

  4. Applicant must confirm his/her intent to pursue the athletic training profession as his/her primary means of livelihood.

  5. Applicant must be a student member of NATA District 1, and have a Connecticut mailing address to be eligible for the District One Scholarship.

NOMINATING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Each certified athletic trainer may submit no more than one nomination.

  2. The following items must be submitted:

    1. The student application form completed and signed by the nominee.

    2. A letter of recommendation to be completed and signed by the Certified Athletic Trainer.

    3. Nomination Form signed by Dean of College or Head of Department.

    4. Undergraduate transcript.

  3. The deadline for filing applications is April 1.

  4. Submit completed application packet, and transcript to:

Graduation Scholarship Application

 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  1. Be a full-time student attending a college or university in Connecticut.

  2. Distinguish oneself academically, and as a member of the student athletic trainer program.

  3. Be currently enrolled as a full-time graduate student in an athletic training program, or have verification of acceptance or application into a graduate program.

  4. Signify an intention to continue academic work toward a graduate degree as a full-time graduate student and judge

    capable of this study.

           NOTE:  The recipient of a CATA scholarship is expected to remain enrolled in a graduate program except for military service or church obligations.

  5. Signify an intention to pursue the profession of athletic training as a means of livelihood.

NOMINATING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Nominations shall be restricted to students who are attending a college or university in Connecticut.

  2. Each Certified Athletic Trainer may submit no more than one nomination.

  3. The following items must be submitted:

    1. The student application form completed and signed by the nominee.

    2. A letter of recommendation to be completed and signed by the Certified Athletic Trainer.

    3. Undergraduate Transcript .

    4. Graduate Transcript (including Fall semester 2007).

  4. The Certified Athletic Trainer supervisor is considered to be that responsible official for collecting all nomination information and forwarding it directly to:
