National Athletic Training Month

National Athletic Training Month 2008

Thank you to everyone that participated in the 4th Annual “Hit the Hill” and helped to make it another success.  Your support of Athletic Training helped to increase the consciousness of the life-saving potential of Certified Athletic Trainers.

Congratulations to the UCONN Student Athletic Trainers for their outstanding show of support with the most student athletic trainers in attendance.  Their Student Athletic Training Club will be awarded $100 in recognition of their efforts to help promote Athletic Training.  Dan Kardos from Sacred Heart University and Kristoffer Friend from the University of Connecticut were also awarded free registration to the CATA Symposium in May.

The Committee on Reimbursement also hosted two March Madness events to familiarize high school students and their parents about what an Athletic Trainer is and what they do.

Student Athletic Trainers from Central State University, Southern Connecticut State University, Sacred Heart University, and University of Connecticut all worked together with members of the COR to demonstrate the six domains of Athletic Training and gave the participants an opportunity to experience and apply the skills of an Athletic Trainer.
