Licensure

After a ten year battle, Athletic Trainers in Connecticut are eligible to become licensed.  This is a milestone event that affects all certified Athletic Trainers working in CT.  Please visit the Connecticut Licensing Info Center to download your application for a license:  Connecticut Licensing CenterThe grace period deadline ended November 1, 2006.  In order to practice as an Athletic Trainer in any setting in the state of Connecticut, you must be licensed.  Should you choose to not become licensed, you will forfeit your right to practice as an Athletic Trainer in the state of Connecticut.

Please remember that with licensure comes more responsibility.  Please review the state statute pertaining to Licensed AT's in Connecticut in order to assure that you are practicing within the statute:  Connecticut General Statutes Also, review this information with your employer again to assure that you are operating within your scope of practice.
